Polytechnic occupation ends....
"If something scares us, it is the return to normality. For in the destroyed and pillaged streets of our cities of light we see not only the obvious results of our rage, but the possibility of starting to live. We no longer have anything to do, other than to install ourselves in this possibility and transform it into a living experience: by grounding on the field of everyday life, our creativity, our power to materialize our desires, our power not to contemplate but to construct the real. This is our vital space. All the rest is death."
On December 24th, the Athens Polytechnic Occupation announced it would leave the school in order to help spread the rebellion into the neighborhoods.

"...Be assured, this is only the beginning"
"We have just occupied New School University. We liberate this space for ourselves, and all those who want to join us, for our general autonomous use. We take the university in explicit solidarity with those occupying the universities and streets in Greece, Italy, France and Spain."
A portion of The New School in New York City was occupied around 8pm tonight. Students at the school have a long list of grievances with their school's administration. In a communique released shortly after the occupation took place the students inside expressed solidarity with the revolt in Greece as well as the student struggles in Italy, France, and Spain.
They go on to state:
"...what begins tonight at the New School cannot, and should not, be contained here.
Thus: with this occupation, we inaugurate a wave of occupations in New York City and the United States, a coming wave of occupations, blockades, and strikes in this time of crisis.
Be assured, this is only the beginning, "

"Stop watching, get out onto the streets"
“The State murders. Your silence arms them. Occupations in all public buildings, now. Occupation of the Town Hall of Agios Dimitrios”
The Liberated City Hall of Aghios Dimitrios which has been occupied since the morning of December 11th, has released a statement calling for the release of all those arrested in the uprising. The ' liberated' city hall holds daily assemblies with 300 people participating, and calls itself 'a space for counter information and self organization'.
Meanwhile young protesters momentarily seized the state run TV turning off a speech by the Prime Minister and turning cameras on their banners which read: "Stop watching, get out onto the streets," and "Free everyone who has been arrested." In Thessaloniki people forced radio stations to broadcast messages on air.

The writing is on the wall... Let the revolt spread!
The action will likely pick up in Greece today with multiple events planned. Occupations continue to grow. And many of us around the world who have been inspired by what has happened in Greece hope that the spirit of that insurrection will grow and spread.
In Italy there was a huge strike with students targeting banks and Greek consulates. In The USA the Northeastern Anarchist Network has added to calls for solidarity actions which continue all over the country and the world...

What's Next in Greece?
attacking cops in athens
"Comrades in all the world, if you want to express your solidarity, which we need a lot keep on the fights in your countries and make them stronger. They are really afraid for us, believe us you can not imagine, here now we can see it clearly. Resurrection, like we read in the books really exists, we can assure you , we live it... It is Beautiful! In one night “reality”, “normality” died... It will happen to your countries soon. Make plans , Be ready"
- some anarchists from Athens
As Greece enters nearly a week straight of rioting it is still unclear what will happen? Will the Revolt spread as the media seem to fear? Students seem to be continuing the fight, riots continued again today, a Town Hall in suburban Athens was taken over by residents who referred to the current events as a "Civil War".
Here is a recent description of events on the ground from Greek Anarchists.
Solidarity actions continue to spread in europe, and in the US as well.

NYC: Solidarity with Alexis and the Greek Rioters
About 30 New Yorkers rallied in front of the Greek consulate yesterday to show their solidarity with Alexis , and the rioters throughout Greece. There was a large police presence, including a mobile command center, Undercover Officers and TARU (surveillance) officers. The protesters chanted "Cops Pigs Murders!" in Greek and English, as well as "Fire and flames to the state, their repression fuels our hate!" before dispersing.
The Consulate was shut down due to a early morning attack also in solidarity with Alexis. The windows of the consulate were smashed and the message "Alexi was here" and Anarchy symbols left on the walls. The incompetent NYPD theorize that this act was committed by the infamous "bicycle bomber" despite the fact that the M.O. was rather different, a brick was used and spray painted messages were left.
